Reasons for the increased divorce filings and interest in obtaining a divorce after Valentine’s Day can be explained by any number of reasons including, but not limited to:
- A substantial number of people are considering divorce all the time, and deciding whether or not to file. On Valentine’s Day, they take stock of their life and where they want to be in the future and decide that they need a divorce.
- January is the busiest month of the year for new bankruptcy filings. A family’s financial problems are often a cause for a divorce case.
- There are those who have made an initial resolution at the beginning of the year to get on with their lives and obtain a divorce. They finally decide on Valentine’s Day to begin moving forward with their resolution to become single.
