The Law Firm of Charles D. Jamieson, P. A. Family Scholarship was created to highlight those who understand the importance of a family in shaping our lives. This year’s scholarship received tons of applications, with their own definitions and experiences. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the students who submitted their stories with us. We hope that this scholarship has been a helpful opportunity for everyone who participated, and we look forward to supporting more students in the future. 

We are pleased to announce Grace Schuler as The Law Firm of Charles D. Jamieson, P. A. Family Scholarship 2023 Winner!

2023 Winner: Grace Schuler

Since childhood, Grace Schuler, a senior at Drexel University’s Hospitality Management Program in Philadelphia, PA, has harbored a passion for event planning. From scooping ice cream at 14 to interning with a prestigious Caribbean resort’s event planning team last summer, she has consistently demonstrated remarkable dedication to the industry. Beyond her career aspirations, Grace is deeply committed to community service. She founded Speak Out!, a public speaking training program that has positively impacted over 200,000 individuals and empowered more than 100 low-income students, resulting in scholarships for seven. Additionally, she actively engages in various community service endeavors, such as teaching music-based reading in the Dominican Republic and assisting senior citizens in Camden, New Jersey.

Reaction Statement: The Family Scholarship was a wonderful gift that allowed me to have experiences I would never have had otherwise. For example, in my senior year, I was able to take on an internship with the event planning team at The Ritz-Carlton in St. Thomas, U.S.V.I., to learn about resort management. It was also possible for me to volunteer my time to serve as the president of the Drexel Hospitality Society. These are things I could not have considered doing without scholarship support, as I would have been working more hours to pay for school. As I enter my career in event planning, I hope to continue to develop events that resolve hard issues and find solutions for those in need. I believe that with this career I can make a difference that can improve lives. By awarding me with your scholarship, you gave me the freedom to focus more on learning and less on funding my education, and I so appreciate that gift of time. Your generosity has inspired me to help others and give back to the community.  I hope one day I will be able to help other students achieve their goals just as you have helped me.

2022 Winner: Kate Deviney

Reaction statement: I am deeply grateful to The Law Firm of Charles D. Jamieson, P.A. for offering this scholarship opportunity and for choosing me as its 2022 recipient. It feels wonderful to receive this support as I continue to strive to meet my career and life goals. When I become a lawyer, I will follow Mr. Jamieson’s example and offer a similar scholarship to deserving students.

2021 Winner: Kieva Conway

Kieva Conway is a junior nursing student at Fairfield University, located in Fairfield, Connecticut. She was born in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, and soon after moved to Malvern, Pennsylvania, where she was raised and currently resides. She enjoys playing the piano, going to the beach, and spending time with her friends and family. She comes from a big Irish family whose love and support continue to push her towards reaching her goals. She hopes to pursue higher education and work as a labor and delivery nurse one day. 

Kieva’s Reaction: I feel so grateful to have been chosen as the 2021 recipient of The Law Firm of Charles D. Jamieson. P.A.’s Family Scholarship. Family and my education are the two most important aspects of my life. This opportunity has brought me one step closer to achieving my educational and career goals, and for that, I am eternally grateful.
